Champ Watson, who has achieved remarkable success as a college and high school coach, enters his 18th year as the Director of Another Level Basketball Camps. Watson brings a wealth of knowledge to the camps. He has coached and helped developed over 25 players who have received scholarships to further their academics and play basketball on the college level.
Overall, over 35 combined selections for All State and All Conference in both high school and college, along with 4 All-American selections

Watson will continue to develop players from the elementary level to high school. He has a passion for developing players and teaching kids the game of basketball and what it will take to become a great player and teammate.

Watson served 10 seasons as an assistant coach at LR Parkview High School. He helped the Patriots capture 4 State Championships,
2 Finals Runner-Up finishes, and 6 conference championships. The Patriots were 235-52 during his tenure.

He served under Al Flanigan. The Southern Arkansas University and AHSCA Hall of Fame Inductee captured 7 State Championships, 11 State Final appearances, 12 Conference championships in his 24 years as Head Coach of the Patriots, with an overall record of 545-147.

Prior to LR Parkview, Watson was an assistant at the University of Arkansas-Monticello under Mike Newell. In 2006, he helped guide the Boll Weevils to 21 victories, the most in school history, and advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 with a victory over Delta State University. Delta State had the longest winning streak (26) in the nation and was ranked #1 in the national polls.

After UAM, he served as the Head Coach at Texas College. Watson recruited over 20 student-athletes, including Division I transfers Mike Dale (Southern Illinois), and Chris White (Mr. Basketball of Alabama), and brought in 4 oversees players, led by 7-footer Ajuma Jaromogi of Trinidad..

Watson has had head coaching stops Abundant Life, Hamburg, and Strong High Schools. At Strong, Watson inherited a team which lost 9 players from the previous season. The mindset was to immediately evaluate the talent there and begin training and developing players. In 3 years, he reached the Regionals in his first 2 years and his final season, he led the Bulldogs to the State Tournament, a first for his players. Watson also helped 6 players to receive scholarships and further their education through playing college basketball. At Hamburg, he had to revamp the roster as well by moving up all his 9th graders to have a squad at all.

Watson, a military veteran who served in Operation Desert Shield, received numerous awards, letters, and commendations while serving in the U.S. Navy, including Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Sea Service Medal, Good Conduct Award, and an Honorable Discharge Award just to name a few.

He is a native of Crossett, Arkansas and was selected as an Outstanding Citizen of the State of Arkansas by then Governor, Mike Huckabee. Watson served as a member of Leadership Arkansas, along with other organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member of the Crossett Area United Way. He was also instrumental in the promotional ad in bringing Economic Development to the City of Crossett.

Watson resides in North Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife Carla. He has a daughter (Chandolyn) and a grandson (Chasen), who is already doing basketball workouts while hanging with PawPaw.
